Enrollment Criteria Expansion for Secondary Industry Credential Only programs in Ohio Technical Centers

The Office of Career-Technical Education has updated guidance on funding and grade level criteria for delivery of Industry Credential Only programs at Ohio Technical Centers.

Secondary Career Technical Education in Ohio Technical Center Guidance

Currently, Industry Credential Only - Senior Programs are designed to target the specific needs of students in their senior year of high school (twelfth grade), who have completed most of their curriculum requirements, and have time in their schedule to pursue an industry-recognized credential. However, to ensure expanded access to secondary career-technical education programs through Ohio Technical Centers, the Office of Career-Technical Education has expanded enrollment criteria for funding beginning in the FY25 school year to include students who are reported as Juniors (eleventh grade) or Seniors (twelfth grade) in the schools EMIS reporting. Industry Credential Only – Senior Programs allow schools to schedule instructional time based solely on the time needed for the student to achieve an industry-recognized credential(s).
